I might do some proper entries in later. I figured if I want to be a journalist I ought to get into the swing of things a bit better!

I missed The Audition and then suddenly they are coming back here next week! Good times :) So I'm going to see them at Manchester, Sheffield and then Slam Dunk Festival later on in the month (which is gonna be freaking wicked btw!). I'm just well excited and wanted to post about eeeeeet! Gonna buy those boys a drink for being so good to me in Chicago.

This always makes me smile even though I wasn't there.

If you haven't already, you need to go check out the new album from The Audition here:

I've been looking through my calendar to book things off work and realised I've not got half as much going on this year as the past few years. Although, it's kind of disappointing, what's written down is of pretty epic proportions and will be very good tiiiiimes so I ain't complaining.

24th April - Ross Noble @ Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham
1st May - Madina Lake & The Audition @ Academy, Manchester
4th May - Madina Lake & The Audition @ Corporation, Sheffield
9th May - Cousin's Wedding
22nd May - Cobra Starship @ Academy, Manchester
24th May - Slam Dunk Festival @ Union, Leeds
29th May - 1st June - Supernatural Convention @ Metropole Hotel, Birmingham
23rd June - Take That @ Manchester (Cricket Ground or Old Trafford)
26th June - Brand New @ Academy, Birmingham
Kept July free in case I had enough moniezzzz for USA & Canada...I don't.
2nd August - Walking With Dinosaurs @ Arena, Sheffield (Don't tell me you didn't love that tv show!)
14th - 17th August - Fringe Festival @ Edinburgh
20th August - U2 @ Don Valley Stadium, Sheffield
26th - 31st August - LEEDS FESTIVAL
21st September - Start university @ Salford

Ok, so I love both Supernatural and Reaper but I can't help noticing A LOT of similarities.

SUPERNATURAL

• Main character (one half of them) is called Sam Winchester

• Sam Winchester has demon blood in him and was supposed to be a leader of a demon army but he isn't evil enough (or is he?)

• Sam & Dean Winchester fight evil and Sam now uses his special powers to send demons back to hell

• Sam's mum sold his soul to the YED to save Sam's dad

• Mostly shot in and around Vancouver

• Sam has a brother who is a bit of a cocky dick

• The line "smoke 'em if you got 'em" is used

• Sam will never have a normal existence because of his secret life

• Sam is doing a demon
REAPER

• Main character is called Sam Oliver
• Sam Oliver is the son of the devil and the devil wants him to eventually rule hell but he isn't evil enough

• Sam sends escaped evil souls back to hell

• Sam's mum sold his soul to the devil to save his dad

• Mostly shot in and around Vancouver

• Sam's newly discovered half-brother is a massively cocky dick, however, unlike angel-bummed Dean Winchester, he is also the son of the devil

• The line "smoke 'em if you got 'em" is used

• Although Sam has his best friends', his girlfriend recently dumped him when she found out he was the son of the devil

• Best friends with a demon and one of his friends is doing a demon

Ok, so they're mostly Sam related but I'm sure there are plenty more to add to the list if I start rewatching episodes. Feel free to comment and add some more!

OMG YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! I've now got the full monty for the Asylum Convention! I'm talking autographs with everyone, photo op with Jared, photo op with Jensen and photo op with them both together! Gonna try and get a Mischa one when I get there but I am sooo excited now! This convention is going to kick the shitty US conventions' arse! It's cheaper, the parties will be better and it's also better organised and more personal.
Check out how awesome it's gonna be and get jealous:

So Leeds Fest 2007 was amazing, Leeds Fest 2008 was amazing so no prizes for guessing what Leeds Fest 2009 is going to be! Last year I ate pasta and sauce everyday, got muddier than I've ever been in my life, wore wellies for 5 days straight and loved it, spend ridiculous amounts of money in mikshakes and spring rolls (not together!) and saw (in no particular order) Mindless Self Indulgence, Alexisonfire, Avenged Sevenfold, Tenacious D, Anti-Flag (twice), Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Taking Back Sunday,  Biffy Clyro, Rage Against The Machine, The Killers, Pendulum, Kids In Glass Houses, Goldfinger, MXPX, You Me At Six, The Audition and All Time Low as well as a few comedians! Not bad, eh? Good freakin' times!

And this year we already plan on seeing Kings of Leon, The Prodigy, Brand New, Fall Out Boy, Funeral For A Friend, Lostprophets and AFI and there's still loads more to be announced. There's a few bands that I'm wishing on to make an appearence but whether they will or not, I guess I'll have to wait and see! I hope that it stays sunny this year because it's going to be my only Summer holiday and chance to tan seeing as there's no way i can afford to go back the USA! SO EXCITED THOOOUGH!

Took a trip to the Zoo in Lincoln Park with Alex (well Alessio is his real name and yes, he does look like Gabe Saporta) because it was completely free! I love animals and I love free stuff so, despite the cold, the day proved to be a goodun.

We went to that Wizard of Oz park first to get some touristy photos of the statues and I was trying to explain to Alex the characters and that I was Dorothy in a school play of it once but he didn't seem to have a clue what I was on about haha! Then we headed to the zoo and did what you usually do in a zoo...looked at the animals. I made us go to the Polar Bear pen sooo many times but I still didn't see the damn thing! They had a good selection of big cats, though haha.

Then after a day at the zoo, we went back to the hostel and watched Charlie's Angels 2 before going our seperate ways as Alessio was leaving for Hawaii really early in the morning...lucky for some! That's about it really from this day.

So visiting the USA and Canada was supposed to be my dream trip. I'm beginning to think maybe sometimes dreams are better left as dreams but now I'm 4,000 miles from home and I'm determined to stick it out. I was all excited before we landed when I could see all the lights of Chicago glowing up at me from below but then it wasn't all as easy as I'd thought once I got there.

We queued outside W.H Smith Meadowhall for about an hour and a half before we got to get our books signed by Noel and Julian (the others weren't there for some reason).  Not a bad wait really. There were a few people dressed up which surprised me because of the pants turnout at the aftershow party!

my friends are a different breed, my friends are everything

So yesterday, I thought I'd go and visit my best friend Ashley who's busy swotting it up at Nottingham University. And when I say 'swotting it up', i mean it...she's taking maths and is excited about it for christ's sake! Nottingham's quite nice and I'd been having a nosey at it as a potential university for me when I can be arsed to go but I don't think i'll go there to be honest. There's no need when Ashley is there and I can go and visit her whenever I'm free.

WOW! Ok, so I saw The Mighty Boosh live at Buxton Opera House last and it was AWESOME! Unless you went to the Boosh Festival, don't read ahead if you don't want the show to be ruined for you...I'm afraid I don't have any pics because the Opera House was pretty strict on the photo-taking thing and also, because we were in the FRONT ROW, we'd have got caught.
